Operator III - Packaging

Operator III will set up and complete transfers and packaging per established procedures and guidelines. It is responsible for reviewing work orders and loading or unloading Totes, Drums, and Bulk trailers received or shipped at the Cleveland facility.

This role is a member of the production department and reports directly to the Production Manager.

Follow Safety Guidelines

·        Maintainfamiliarity with the safe handling, environmental regulations, and emergencyresponse for all material in your area.

·        Participatein plant safety processes and immediately report any unsafe conditions.

·        Observeall safety policies and procedures.

·        Completeroutine inspections of equipment and facilities in assigned work areas.

·        Supportand conduct the clean-out of process equipment. This will require confinedspace entry following the company and OSHA guidelines.

·        Remaincurrent on the requirements of the QMS and ensure that your actions support theSharp quality policy towards continual improvement.

Liquid Product Packaging

·        Fillpackages (drums, totes) of various weights with liquid products received andshipped from the facility.

·        ApplyLabels & placards to containers before filling.

·        Ensurethe material being packaged follows the Packaging and Quality guidelines.

·        Verifywork orders & lot numbers and correct errors as needed, and/or reportproblems to Supervision.

Bulk Loading & Unloading

·        Setup and complete transfers and packaging per established procedures andguidelines.

·        Internallytransport loaded and empty material containers such as tank trucks, railcars,drums, and totes.

·        Complete transfer log sheets and paperwork as required.

·        Provide guidance and oversight of the packaging operations to help organize packaging between operations, packaging, and warehouse.

Forklift Operation and Material Transport

·        Operate a forklift to weigh, transport, arrange, and store chemical totes and pallets.

·        Internally transport loaded and empty material containers such as tank trucks, railcars, drums, and totes.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with different departments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Required Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).\
  • Minimum of 1-3 years     experience in chemical manufacturing & production, material handling, warehouse.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.
