Position Summary

Element Chemicals is a leading chemical manufacturing company known for its commitment to quality and innovation. We specialize in the reaction and blending of specialty chemicals and pride ourselves on maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

We seek a full-time Lab Technician to join our team at The Woodlands, TX, and Cleveland, TX. The Lab Technician is responsible for routine analysis, good lab documentation practices, sample shipment, logging/organizing incoming samples, and assisting in lab maintenance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage equipment setup and preparation.
  • Receive samples, safely perform laboratory tests, and report lab data.
  • Prepare sample shipments in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform routine procedures, data entry, test methods, and activities on samples and materials that support the development and production of chemical products.
  • Essential laboratory techniques include both instrumental methods and wet chemistry
  • Supports chemical-related troubleshooting activities.
  • Ensures Company resources are used cost-effectively.
  • Operates lab equipment and performs chemical analysis and calculations.
  • Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them.
  • Collects data and samples to support product development, production, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains a clean and safe workspace.
  • Maintains the proper QA/QC documentation.
  • Maintains chemical inventories as needed.
  • Assists with any administrative paperwork necessary for lab operations.
  • Order and stock laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Connect and disconnect equipment and perform minor adjustments on lab equipment.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Skilled in problem-solving, analysis, personal time management, and technical capacity.
  • Exceptional communication proficiency and focus on teamwork.
  • Ability to partner with leadership as needed.
  • Mathematical aptitude and possess analytical skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
  • Able to act by established safety guidelines and processes.

Education & Experience

  • An associate degree or 2 years of experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience handling hazardous substances.
  • Proficient computer skills and associated software applications to enter and evaluate data and create report
